FROM NAVARRA 2019
The first edition of the Navarra International Film Festival (NIFF) will feature a section called From Navarra, where five works by five Navarrese filmmakers will be programmed.

MIKELE
At just 16, Mikele is already a teenager. Like everyone else, she's at a point where she's making the most of her life and starting to think about her future plans. However, unlike her friends, Mikele finds herself in a situation that could lead to society labeling her and viewing her with prejudicial prejudices. So far, everything has gone very well for her, but what will happen when she has to leave town and navigate this society?

EKHIÑE ETXEBERRIA
Film Director
Ekhiñe Etxeberria studied a degree in film and video production at the School of Film and Video. She is currently completing her degree in cinematography (specializing in documentary directing) at the School of Film and Audiovisual of Catalonia (ESCAC). She has filmed "Love and Happiness in the World," "Nortasuna," "Love," and "Absence."

MOTXILA21 EN VIVO!
Motxila 21, The Documentary is a Road Movie. The London tour of this extraordinary rock band speaks of diversity, respect, friendship, creativity, rock, music, but above all, it speaks of people. It gives visibility to people with Down syndrome from a positive perspective.

IÑAKI ALFORJA
Film Director
Since 1988, he has worked professionally in the audiovisual world, as a director, camera operator, editor and director of photography. He has worked on community projects, minors in Central America, prostitutes, social groups, disabilities, Historical Memory ... Currently, he is the director of photography for the documentary "Enrique Villarreal: El Drogas". BORN IN GAMBIA
Hassan is a street kid. His brother was accused of witchcraft and burned alive in front of him. His stepfather tells him he has the devil inside him, so he runs away so they won't kill him. Hassan always carries a tape recorder with him, telling us about his life, that of other children, and that of a beautiful country, but one steeped in dangerous traditions.

NATXO LEUZA FERNÁNDEZ
Film Director
He works as a director, screenwriter, editor, and post-producer. He has a long history in the documentary world, working on a multitude of projects in various countries around the world: Sierra Leone, Benin, Togo, Mauritania, Gambia, Peru, Guatemala, El Salvador, Qatar, Haiti, Germany... He is currently finishing his project Born in Gambia and directing Enrique Villareal's musical feature film, "El Drogas."

ROMIPEN
Seven women are the protagonists of this documentary that opens a small window into a little-known world: the Roma. A documentary where the most intimate voices of Carmen, Saray, Silvia, Ángela, Joana, Andrea, and R are heard. Feminist and militant words move the audience, revealing the feelings and thoughts of these women.

HELENA BAYONA
Film Director
She holds a degree in Journalism from the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU), where she is currently studying for a degree in Political Science. She completed her first audiovisual project, "Mordiendo el aire" (Biting the Air), in 2017. "Romipen" emerges from this project and follows the same premises in an attempt to gain a deeper insight into the topic and foster a critical perspective among the public.

MINERITA
The short documentary "Minerita" takes a look at the Cerro Rico in Potosí (Bolivia), a lawless territory of brutal violence. Here, miners risk their lives in dilapidated mines to extract silver and zinc. Those who survive believe they have a right to everything. Then, the hunt for women begins. Minerita is the story of three women, Lucía (40), Ivone (16), and Abigail (17), who work as night watchmen or inside the mine and fight to survive in a hell unfit for life. Their only weapons: courage... and dynamite.

RAÚL DE LA FUENTE

The director of “Minerita” (Goya Award for Best Documentary Short Film), Raúl de la Fuente, has traveled much of the world in search of stories, being a director, screenwriter and editor in documentary works, for film and television, in countries such as India, Angola, Algeria, Venezuela, Peru, Cuba, Bolivia, Canada, United States... After the documentary “Nömadak Tx” (2006) and the short “Virgen negra” (2011), De la Fuente directed the documentaries “I Am Haiti” (2014) and “La fiebre de oro” (2017). In 2018 he released the feature film “Un día más de vida” (2018), co-directed by Damian Nenow.
